Phoenix Valley In-Home Dog Training
For the most part my dogs have not required any additional dog training than I was able to do on mine own…until now. I found the cutest female Blue hHeler, Britney Spaniel mix at the local pet adoption in Phoenix. She was somewhat easy to potty train and loves attention, but runs away consistantly if not watched. I fear for her safety as we live near a busy street. We’ve tried shock collars and she even flunked puppy kindergarten. I was so frustrated I was ready to find a new home for her when I heard about Phoenix Valley dog training. They come to your home and train them right there. Their methods involve behavior modification, problem solving and obedience training. My dog took right to the trainer and we learned how to interact on the dog’s level.

Dog Treat House Training
One of the first steps to house training your puppy is research. Different dog breeds will be able to hold it longer than others and some are just plain smarter than others. The age of your puppy will also need to be taken into account as the younger they are, the more frequently you will need to take them outside. The first day you get your pup, take it out every half hour and make adjustments from there. You may need to go out every 15 minutes or the opposite end of the spectrum and be able to wait an hour in between potty breaks.
When you take your puppy outside to where you would like him/her to go, give them plenty of time to sniff the ground and when they have done their business, give them a dog treat and lots and lots of praise, using whatever word you want to express what they have done. Always use the same word and when your dog gets the hang of it, you can ask them if they need to go “potty” and they will respond by going to the door or whining. Consistency, patience and many dog snacks will train your dog in a positive manner to eliminate outside and not in your home.

Hypoallergenic Cat Breeds and Cat Allergy Tips
Pets can help reduce stress and teach responsibility to children, but many pet lovers are allergic to cats and sometimes dogs. Several people in my family are allergic to cats including myself and we adore them. My neighbor got a Rex feline and has no problems with her children’s allergies, but the cat isn’t very attractive as cats go. It looks more like a rat to me. Searching a cat breeder directory there are other breeds that are also hypoallergenic. The Sphynx is a hairless cat, but the Siberian cat breed is beautiful.
People are allergic to a protein in the cat’s saliva that collects in the cat’s fur when it cleans itself. The sphynx has no hair thus eliminating this problem while the Rex has very, very short hair that limits the amount of saliva on the fur. The Siberian cat though, has long fur but only produces a small amount of this protein compared to other felines. They produce 200 micrograms of the protein per gram while the average cat produces 63,000 micrograms. On this cat breeder listing, it also had feline health and behavior information as well as cats for sale.
Additional tips that can help to reduce allergies to cats are having your cat spayed or neutered. It cuts down on the production of the protein created by each cat, more so in males. Bathing your cat in plain water helps remove the protein from the cat’s coat. Let your cat outside as weather permits. An air filtration sysem can reduce the amount of allergens circulated. Vacuum with a HEPA vacuum frequently. Pets are a great addition to your home and family and allergies should not take away the experience of having a loving pet.
